A man was arrested after a car left the A64 between Scarborough and Malton.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident involving a black Ford Mondeo which happened near West Heslerton at around 7.45am on Sunday.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third party

He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police are appealing for anyone who can help with their investigation to get in touch, particularly anyone who has dash-cam footage taken in the area at the time.
