Man, 21, caught drug driving in Hunmanby three days after coming back from Amsterdam

A man who was caught drug driving in Hunmanby had been to Amsterdam just three days earlier, a court heard.

Alexander Groom, of Stonegate, Hunmanby, tested positive for cannabis when he was stopped by police after driving at speed on Bridlington Road on August 18 2019.

After being arrested, a blood sample revealed the 21-year-old was over the specified limit. Officers also found he was driving without insurance.

On Monday January 6 Groom appeared at Scarborough Magistrates Court where he admitted both offences.
