Man due in court charged with assaulting a police officer on Yorkshire coast and 6 other offences

A Bridlington man was due to appear in court today charged with seven offences including assaulting a police officer.

Ryan Laing, 22, of St Hilda Street, was arrested on Georgian Way in Bridlington on Saturday night after a Skoda Fabia failed to stop for police and hit a lamp post.

He was charged with assaulting a police officer, a public order offence, drink driving, dangerous driving, driving whilst uninsured, driving without a licence and failing to stop for the police.

The officer did not sustain serious injuries and remained on duty.
