Man ready to set off for work assaulted in Scarborough by 'man in dark clothing'

A man has been left with cuts and bruises after being assaulted in Scarborough.

The incident happened yesterday morning (Tuesday February 4) at around 6.45am on Morgan Street.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was setting off for work when he was approached by a man in dark clothing. The suspect, who is around 6ft tall, assaulted him and fled in the direction of Gladstone Road.

Police have launched an investigation and are reassuring the public that they believe it is an isolated incident.
