North Yorkshire Police respond to youth-related anti-social behaviour in Scarborough town centre
North Yorkshire Police officers are currently in Scarborough town centre responding to youth-related anti-social behaviour and have already started giving directions to leave.
A person can be issued a direction to leave notice which can last for up to 48 hours.
Breaching the dispersal can result in being arrested or reported for summons at magistrates’ court.
Police use direction to leave dispersal notices as an intervention to reduce or remove the likelihood of anti-social behaviour, crime or disorder.
Parents are advised that if they have a young person in the town centre tonight, to get in touch with them to ensure they aren't part of the behaviours.
