North Yorkshire Police stop motorist on Malton on suspicion of drug driving

A driver was stopped in Malton last night on suspicion of drug driving.

North Yorkshire Police Chief Constable Lisa Winward with some of the force's roads policing group.

Officers from North Yorkshire Police's roads policing group had stopped the driver and seized his Volkswagen car previously for not having the correct documents.

Last night he was stopped again and was arrested after failing a drugs swipe for cannabis.

The team were joined for some of their patrol last night by North Yorkshire Police Chief Constable Lisa Winward.

They said: "It was fantastic to see her showing such a visible presence and taking time to talk to the team."
