Officers from North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious collision between a van and a pedestrian near Castle Howard.

On Monday December 9, at around 1.30pm, a red Renault Kangoo van collided with a pedestrian on Castle Howard Station Road in Welburn.

The pedestrian, a 69 year-old-woman, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary via air ambulance where she remains in a critical condition.

The driver is currently assisting police with their enquiries whilst the investigation continues.

Officers are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.
