Police appeal after car failed to stop and sped off through Scarborough's villages

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage of a car that failed to stop.

Officers say the the silver/grey car failed to stop in the village of Snainton near Scarborough before it sped off.

The car then overtook numerous vehicles on a double white line before entering the village of Ebberston.

The incident happened on the A170 shortly before 7.20pm on Tuesday March 2.

A police spokesperson said: "We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

"In particular, we are appealing for dash cam footage captured by members of the public."
