Police conduct Bridlington patrols with drugs dog Casper
Bridlington Neighbourhood Policing team, East Riding of Yorkshire Council licensing officers and other partner agencies have been out and about in Bridlington – complete with specialist drugs dog Casper.
The team conducted high visibilty patrols in the town centre, visiting a number of venues – resulting in Casper “seeing right through some individuals and sniffing out a small quantity of drugs”.
A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “It was a great chance for community engagement, and the Neighbourhood Beat Officers and Police Community Support Officers enjoyed talking to local businesses, door staff, and customers about their own experiences of the town centre.
“This provided an opportunity for them to speak to local officers about their concerns and encouraged them to report any information or suspicious behaviour in the area.
“If you are concerned about drugs, and other crime in your area, please speak to your local officers when you see them out and about.
“You can also report online, or by calling our non-emergency number 101. Always call 999 in an emergency or if a crime is ongoing.
“Alternatively, if you wish to report anonymously, you can do so via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
