Police investigating hay bales fire near Malton as suspected arson

Police suspect 130 hay bales set on fire near Malton could have been an arson attack.

As reported by the Scarborough News, firefighters were called to put out the bales in Birdsall just after 10pm on Sunday.

North Yorkshire Police are treating the cause of the blaze as suspicious and area appealing for help establishing what happened.

In particular, they are looking for information about any suspect vehicles or people that may have been in the area around the time of the fire.
