Officers have been engaging with owners and users of mopeds and motorcycles, to offer security advice, including “Trace, Lock, Cover.” CCTV and lighting advice has also been given.

Proactive patrols throughout the hours of darkness have also been increased, with high visibility foot and vehicle patrols, along with a tactical unmarked presence, officers have been deployed to key locations.

Sergeant Holly Hornsby of Eastfield and Filey NPT said: “Our coordinated approach, involving security advice, identifying our key areas and targeted patrols have helped reduce thefts as part of the operation.”

Those with CCTV, doorbell video cameras and motion activated dash cams, can help by registering with the North Yorkshire Police digital evidence system.
