Police Constable Susan Scott, leading the operation, said: “I am really pleased to see these results from the national campaign our officers took part in. A total of 67 uninsured vehicles have now been seized which will help to make our roads safer. “The public are the ones who are forced to pay the price of uninsured drivers, and the law is clear, it is the driver’s responsibility to ensure they are driving with insurance, whether it is a company vehicle or their own.

“All motor vehicles which are being used on a public highway must meet the minimum insurance requirements. “I hope the outcome of Op Drive Insured serves as a reminder to drivers that we continue to take offences like this seriously and we will seize vehicles where it is appropriate to do so.”
