Police warning following reports of scammer selling fish in Bridlington

Police are warning Bridlington residents about a fishy scamster operating in the town.

They say several people have reported a man knocking on doors offering to sell them fish.

He has asked for money up front but then failed to return with the goods.

A spokesman for Humberside Police said: "Please be vigilant when opening your door to strangers and do not hand over money to anyone before receiving goods.

"If it looks and sounds dodgy, it probably is!"

Anyone with information about the man should call police via 101.
