• a person has engaged or is likely to engage in disorderly and offensive and criminal behaviour on the premises.

• the use of the premises has resulted in serious nuisance to members of the public

• there has been disorder near the premises, and such disorder is associated with the use of the premises

The Court also found that the making of a closure order is necessary to prevent the occurrence of such future serious nuisance, similar behaviour or disorder.

With this being a partial Closure Order, The Court prohibits anyone from remaining on, or entering the address at anytime except for: • The resident • Anyone deemed to have a reasonable and lawful reason to attend the premise, for example utility service providers such as Gas, Electric and Water, the Landlord, their agents and emergency services.

PC Scott Sunderland from Scarborough’s Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The Closure Order is part of a safeguarding process. The community has been affected by the behaviour at the premise.

"We will work with our partners to engage with the resident at the address to work towards a resolution going forward to prevent a re-occurrence of anti-social behaviour.”

The Closure Order will remain in force for three months. Breaching the order is a criminal offence and should this occur, the person could face up to 51 weeks prison, a fine or both.
