Officers have been maintaining a high-visibility presence along the seafront and town centre to help residents and visitors feel safe while enjoying the warm weather and holiday atmosphere. Neighbourhood officers Sgt Almond and PC Marriott were out in Bridlington patrolling on foot, assisting in the search for several missing children, deterring criminal activity, and speaking with thousands of visitors who travelled to the coast to enjoy the sunshine. Additional patrols have also been carried out in Flamborough, where officers spoke with local residents and visitors about concerns in the area and gathered feedback following the busy bank holiday weekend. Meanwhile, patrols across Bridlington’s south side, town centre, and Old Town led to positive enforcement action. Officers conducted a Misuse of Drugs Act search during which Class B drugs were discovered, while two individuals were referred to the council’s Anti-Social Behaviour team due to their conduct.
Officers are also using the patrols to raise awareness of the “My Community Alert” system, which allows residents to receive local crime alerts and updates about suspicious activity and incidents via text message and email.
Visitors and residents are encouraged to speak with officers on patrol if they have any concerns or would like to sign up for the alert service.
