Officers from North Yorkshire Police have arrested a Scarborough man who has been wanted for several weeks in connection with a domestic violence case.

Police have been searching the Scarborough area for Joshua James Richardson, 23, from near Broxa.

Their perseverance has now paid off and the wanted man has been arrested and taken into custody.

Superintendent Rachel Wood, commander for Scarborough, thanked the public who have shared information during the search and said: “Time and time again, people who are wanted by police think they can give us the slip.

“And time and time again, we prove them wrong.

“The matter doesn’t simply disappear if you refuse to hand yourself in, we’ll keep searching for as long as it takes.

“As this case shows, there’s only one way it ends… and it involves a custody cell.”
