The 24-year-old from Scarborough appeared before York Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with attempted robbery.
He was remanded into custody until his trial at York Crown Court on April 23.
As reported by The Scarborough News, the man was arrested after an attempted robbery at South Cliff Post Office on Filey Road on Monday, March 22.
