Uninsured Mercedes seized by police in Scarborough
Police in Scarborough have impounded an uninsured Mercedes after the vehicle was found to have no insurance.
PC Varey and PC Redhead from Scarborough’s Professional Development Unit were following a white Mercedes in Scarborough on Wednesday (February 25).

Following a check on the Police National Computer, the vehicle was identified as not having a valid insurance policy.
The officers signalled the car to stop.
The driver, a man from Hull, stopped in The Crescent and was spoken to at the roadside.
Further checks showed that he had previously been disqualified from driving in 2023 and did not hold a driving licence.
The insurance expired in November last year, so the car was seized.
The driver was reported for having no insurance and driving whilst disqualified.
