Woman racially abused in Scarborough as police appeal for witnesses

A woman has been racially abused whilst out walking in Scarborough.

The woman, who was walking through the park area of Esplanade Gardens in Scarborough, was subjected to racist abuse by a group of five men on Friday afternoon.

The men are described as white and were listening to music and drinking alcohol at 4pm on Friday, May 7.

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses, CCTV images or information about the incident.

In particular, officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who witnessed the abuse or overheard the comments made by the men.
