Yorkshire Coast man Joshua Esberger hands himself in to police and is charged in connection with violent assault

An East Coast man has been charged in connection with a violent attack after handing himself in to police.

Officers had issued an appeal for Joshua Esberger, of Cranbeck Close, Bridlington, to get in touch as part of their inquiries into the assault.

The 28-year-old presented himself at Bridlington Police Station on Friday, and has since been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and burglary.

The charges are in connection with an attack on April 16, 2018 on Stockshill Road in Scunthorpe.

A man was working at the back of his van when he was violently assaulted, leaving him with life-changing injuries.

Esberger was remanded in custody to appear before Hull Magistrates Court tomorrow.
