The popular pub has been named the Customer Focus Pub for the North for 2016, as well as the Digital Pub of the Year for the North 2016.

Manager Natalie Hodgson, who runs the pub with her partner Steven Murray, said: “We’re delighted to win these awards.

“It’s massive for us, and we’re over the moon.

“The team was ecstatic when we came back and told them.”

Natalie expects her staff to be natural and welcoming, creating a relaxing, friendly atmosphere, which they certainly deliver.

The pub was recently awarded a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for the high level of customer reviews of the pub.

“Everyone’s on the same page,” Natalie added. “The Customer Focus award is down to the team’s hard work, and we work just as hard for the Digital award.

“We really focus on our website, and whenever we’ve got an offer on, we get it posted on all the local tourist information websites, so that people know where to come for a good deal.”
