Twenty schools have already taken thousands of Flumpets to sell to children in support of the hospice’s Christmas appeal in schools.

The cuddlies sell for a minimum donation of just £1 and the hospice is hoping that they will raise lots of money to help patients and families.

One of the biggest orders has gone to Hunmanby Primary School where a spokesman said word started to spread as soon as the Flumpets arrived.

“We’re happy to support Saint Catherine’s because it’s a charity so close to everybody’s hearts,” she said.

Any schools interested in selling the Flumpets or taking more is urged to contact the hospice soon on 01723 378406 as stocks are selling fast.

The Flumpets also on sale at the hospice on Throxenby Lane.
