Eller Beck Bridge: Lorry driver airlifted to hospital in critical condition after crash on North York Moors
A man is fighting for his life after a lorry came off the road and overturned in the North York Moors.
North Yorkshire Police were called by a member of the public who had seen a white DAF HGV come off the road Eller Beck bridge at around 11pm on Wednesday January 4.
The lorry had overturned and became partially stuck in the beck between Goathland and RAF Fylingdales.
The driver, a 50-year-old man from Harlow, was removed from the lorry cab and airlifted to hospital. He is in a critical condition after suffering serious injuries.

Emergency services closed the road for more than a day due to the size of the lorry and complexity of the scene, which allowed investigators to complete enquiries and clear the area. It later reopened at 1am on Friday January 6.
North Yorkshire Police are now urging anyone who saw the HGV travelling from Pickering towards Whitby, or the collision, to come forward. In particular, those with dash-cam footage.
Anyone with information should email [email protected] or call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option one and ask for Traffic Sergeant Ryan Lyth.
