Tourism plays a vital part in the East Riding economy and was valued £459 million per year as well as supporting more than 10,000 jobs. The council and VHEY are working to promote more short breaks to the area, as overnight stays see five times more visitor spend for the local economy.

Councillor Jane Evison, cabinet portfolio holder for economy, investment and inequalities at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “The Yorkshire Wolds really is a hidden gem that the council and VHEY are proud to share with the world.

“As many new visitors to the area are discovering there is so much to see and to do in this stunning part of the county and, through the production of this guide, we hope that the Yorkshire Wolds will feature prominently on more people’s list of places to visit this year.

Sally Brealey the proprietor of Wolds Village, a family-run accommodation, restaurant and tearoom in Bainton, said: “This publication offers the visitor a comprehensive guide to our beautiful Yorkshire Wolds. The guide is user friendly and comes in a handy format.”
