Hay fire causes delays for drivers on A170

Drivers in a village outside Scarborough were being warned to expect delays because of smoke from a hay fire blowing across the road yesterday.

Police issued the warning at around 12.30pm to people travelling on the A170 between Wykeham and West Ayton after the blaze broke out in a field in Hutton Buscel.

Firefighters were called to tackle the fire.
