A whistleblower sparked an Environmental Health investigation into the Huntriss Row restaurant, claiming he quit after being ordered to fry out-of-date chicken.

A KFC spokesperson said: “We refute these allegations in the strongest possible terms and following a thorough investigation we are entirely confident that the claims are false and there was no breaking of our strict procedures and standards.

“Food safety and hygiene are our highest priority, and we enforce a continuous system of rigorous food safety procedures in our restaurants.

“The restaurant was spot-checked by the local authorities as recently as Friday and no food safety concerns were raised during the inspection.”

Disgruntled Samuel Dosser quit the job he’d held at the branch since it opened in November in protest over allegations bosses told him to prepare the “foul fowl” - after they ordered too much over Easter.
