Letter: Pond under Valley Bridge needs attention

For the past few months I’ve reported the state of the pond to the council to be told that “we can’t keep on top of the care or the maintenance of the pond as it would cost far too much money to keep it clean and tidy ever year.” I believe this to be an excuse, the pond overlooks the road and a lot of people walk past it in the summertime and other times of seasons.

I walk past it so many times and I see dead ducks, pigeons, seagulls and other disgusting things in that pond.

I think with it being right in the public’s eye that this needs sorting out as soon as possible.

Let’s bring back the beauty of the Valley pond and all the wildlife that lives there.
