Letter: Roadside litter is a disgrace
Re potholes: To add insult to injury the disgraceful amount of litter on the grass verges is truly appalling.
I travelled from Scarborough to York and was shocked and saddened by the state of it.
Having travelled on French roads extensively, where there seems to be hardly any litter, what must our continental cousins think when they drive on our roads. It looks like a rubbish dump!
How can motorists and their passengers be shamed into taking their litter home and disposing of it responsibly?
Bins at the lay by and signage may help.
