Firefighters from Pickering were called to Allerston after a telehandler, which was being used under electricity pylon cables, got caught in the cables causing them to break and for live wires to set fire to a small area of grassland.

The incident happened at about 5pm with the fire out on the arrival of crews, who waited for Northern Powergrid to attend and isolate the power so firefighters could dampen the area down using a hose reel jet.
