Mountain rescue team called twice in afternoon to injured people in Goathland and Ruswarp, near Whitby

Rescue volunteers were called out twice on Saturday afternoon to help people injured on the Yorkshire Coast.

Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue were deployed to Thomason Foss near Goathland at 2.45pm to reports of a woman who had hurt her leg.

Firefighters helped the team carry the woman over difficult terrain to get medical help.

At 3.05pm, the mountain rescue team was called again to a man with a hip injury on a footpath in Ruswarp.

With help from members of Whitby Coastguard, they carried the man to a waiting ambulance.
