Mystery over man with face injuries at Scarborough crossing

Police are trying to work out what happened to a man who needed hospital treatment after being injured at a Scarborough crossing.

The man, in his 20s, was crossing Falsgrave Road near Sainsbury's on Wednesday morning when he suffered serious face injuries.

A vehicle may have been involved but the man cannot remember what happened.

Police say it is possible he was hurt after his head hit the pedestrian railings on the traffic island, knocking him unconscious.

He was treated in hospital for multiple injuries to his face.

Anyone with information about what happened to the man - described as around 5ft 11ins tall and slim - at around 9.10am on Wednesday, March 10 is being asked to call police.

They are also keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area at the time of the incident.
