The ambassadors have run their own breakfast forums for a number of years but this will be the first combined event with the IoD.

Keynote speaker will be Jon Geldart, the new director general, who said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the Business Ambassadors who have successfully championed the renaissance of Scarborough as a great place to live and work. Bringing companies together enables their owners to share ideas and strategies for business success.”

Peter Wilkinson, chairman of the ambassadors, said: “We hope our new business breakfast with the IoD will encourage more business leaders to become ambassadors for Scarborough, supporting our role in promoting the area as dynamic, entrepreneurial and a great place to live, work and play.”

The business breakfast starts at 8.30am and runs until 10am and is sponsored by North Yorkshire Law, which is supportive of the TEC and local work experience and employability.

The event will be hosted at Scarborough TEC, the college that created Michelin-star chefs such as Andrew Pern and James Mackenzie, as well as James Martin.
