Danie Silvester said: “We were all thrilled and felt valued when we were nominated for this award by our manager.

“To win was an absolute honour. We feel extremely proud that our achievements have been recognised.”

Ann-Marie Medd, the manager at Woodlands, praised her ‘amazing team’ after they landed the Yorkshire and Humberside region accolade.

Ann-Marie said: “While this was a personal achievement for the three staff, it was also testament to the entire team at Woodlands for the dedication they have shown over the last 12 months in improving standards. They should all be very proud of themselves.”

Ann-Marie was also at the awards as a finalist in this year’s Care Home Registered Manager category.

It is the third time Ann-Marie has been nominated at these awards, after winning the Great South East Care Homes Registered Manager award in 2013 and Great South East Dignity in Care award in 2014.

The home will be holding a party for staff and residents to celebrate their success.
