Black Lives Matter supporters and Extinction Rebellion campaigners to hold rally in Scarborough on Saturday
and live on Freeview channel 276
The “citizens’ assembly” will take place at 3pm outside Scarborough Town Hall.
It is being co-hosted by Extinction Rebellion Scarborough and will feature discussions around race, colonisation and climate justice.

Hide AdOrganisers are urging anyone who comes to adhere to standing one metre apart, bring hand sanitiser and wear a mask and, if possible, gloves.
They say no-one who has had coronavirus symptoms in the last 14 days should attend.
The event follows two Saturdays of demonstrations in support of Black Lives Matter.
At both protests, people "took the knee" as a mark of respect to George Floyd, the black man who died after a white officer knelt on his neck for nine minutes and whose death has sparked worldwide Black Lives Matter protests.

Hide AdAt least 100 people were at the first demonstration, which also saw a crowd gather around the nearby statue of Queen Victoria amid concerns it could be vandalised, despite protest organisers stressing that was not their intention.
There were some verbal exchanges between the two groups but no violence or attempts to damage the statue.
