Wally’s Wagers: World’s best heading to Longchamp

The overall card looks strong and i will give a tip for each race on the card.

Firstly L’Arc De Triomphe which will see the outstanding filly Treve try complete an unprecedented third success in the race.

Trainer Criquette Head-Maarek said this week that her horse is “better than last year” and “physically stronger”.

I do feel this race is much tougher than last year and the quality in depth is much better.

If the rain does stay away you will see Golden Horn go up against Treve in what will be a mouthwatering clash.

I feel Treve will be slightly fresher than Golden Horn, the fact it’s in her own back yard and her form at the track, she will prove too strong for the opposition.

The Prix De L’Abbaye over five furlongs attracts some of the best sprinters in the world. The ground will be key in deciding the outcome of the race.

Mecca’s Angel looks unstoppable with cut in the ground, the way she destroyed her rivals at York in the Nunthorpe looks significant in terms of form.

Sole Power still retains all his ability despite being eight years of age, he romped home to win a nice race at the Curragh last month.

Last year’s winner Move in Time also deserves plenty of respect.

The Michael Dods-trained filly Mecca’s Angel is my idea of the winner.

She has not raced much this year and I think that little bit of freshness will count. She looked outstanding last time and if she runs close to that she will win. Covert Love is a filly with a huge amount of potential.

She looked top class winning the Irish Oaks in July. She should hopefully take her place in the Group 1 Prix De L’Opera on Sunday.

Pleascach beat her fair and square last time out and will be competitive no doubt, Ribbons won a fine race last time at the Curragh to suggest she’ll challenge.

I don’t think you can rule any horse out in this race, I think from a value point Covert Love at 5-1 represents the best and she will be my selection.

The Prix De La Foret run over seven furlongs is another Group 1 at the meeting.

Limato is my selection the Henry Candy-trained three-year-old looks to have the beating on all the opposition.
