IN PICTURES: Inside one Scarborough school as it reopens - 'about a third of families have said their children will be coming in'

Several Scarborough schools opened this week for three year groups, while many others in the county did not.

At Barrowcliff School, just Year 6 students have been asked to join vulnerable and key worker children to start with. Head Mark Rogers says staff and governors will assess how that move goes before reviewing whether to invite some of the younger children to return. “About a third of families have said their children will be coming in. I think that mirrors what is happening around the county and the country. We’ve got a strong risk assessment in place to ensure the safety of everybody – staff, the children and families.”
