"Seamer Moor Lane accidents: Here's why Dickie Harper's Lane should be made one-way"

I read the story on the front and inner pages of this newspaper, and firstly can I say this car accident on Seamer Moor Lane is one of many over the years.
Seamer Moor Lane.Seamer Moor Lane.
Seamer Moor Lane.

Back in the early 1980s my wife’s auntie was not so lucky on this road due to some poor driving by a motorist.

I have had close calls when driving down towards Seamer on this road. Once I was stuck behind a tractor.

I kept my place behind it but the driver behind me could not wait, crossed the double white lines painted on the road and could not see what was in the hidden dip.

The tractor driver saved the day by braking because he was high up in the cab and could see the oncoming car in the dip, letting the overtaking car back into the left hand lane.

It was just luck that a head-on car crash was averted.

There may be a lot of people who may not agree with me but I feel Seamer Moor Lane (Dickie Harper's Lane) should be made one way only.

The argument would be which way from Scarborough to Seamer or Seamer to Scarborough. It would make this local road feel safer.
