STEVE KITTRICK: We are looking strong ahead of big games

Leon Osborne and Matt Dempsey both went to Ossett Albion, while Craig Nelthorpe has joined Staveley.

They have gone to get games in, which they need, and we’ll have a look at the situation from there.

As I’ve been saying recently, we are looking to strengthen the squad and we are working very hard to get people in. At the moment it is a difficult time though.

Looking at things, we are still strong.

If somebody told me at the beginning of the season that after 10 games we’d have only lost once, I would have been delighted with that.

We just have to keep things going and progressing, starting with two very big games over the next couple of days.

Saturday sees us hosting Colne at the Flamingo Land Stadium, then on Tuesday we go to Glossop, which isn’t an easy place to pick up points.

We’ve been working hard in training this week to make sure we start these games on Saturday with a positive result.

It was frustrating last weekend at Kendal, coming away with just a point from a 2-2 draw when we should really have had all three.

I think there was only the referee in the ground that didn’t think it was a penalty when Ross Daly was tripped in the box.

You have to say a big well done to the lads though because the conditions were very difficult.

On another day it could have been abandoned.

When I walked on the pitch after the game I realised just how bad it was and that showed on Tuesday night because their home game against Hyde was postponed.

We are at full strength for Saturday’s home game, so we have a few decisions to make.

It is important that we keep on picking up those points and look after ourselves rather than looking at what is going on around us.”
