From Blockbuster movies to much-loved TV dramas, the North York Moors regularly plays host to its share of film and TV stars. Here are 13 film and TV shows that have shone a spotlight on our stunning landscapes, coastlines, castles and towns.
5. Miss Willoughby and the Haunted Bookshop
Ampleforth Abbey is one of the locations for Miss Willougby and the Haunted Bookshop, due for release later this year, starring, Kelsey Grammer, Nathalie Cox and Caroline Quentin.
6. Downton Abbey
Featuring locations around North Yorkshire, possibly the most iconic is that of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in the opening scenes. Also featured is Pickering Railway Station, as a stand in for London’s Kings Cross.
7. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

This historical drama starring Sir Daniel Day Lewis, was filmed in various locations across North Yorkshire including, Whitby, Staithes and Robin Hood's Bay.
