The Prime Minister announced a range of new restrictions on Monday evening, ordering the public to stay at home.
But for those who have been doing DIY, having a New Year clear-out and getting rid of Christmas wrapping paper, you may be wondering if tips and recycling centres are open and if you are legally allowed to visit them.
The good news is that they are one of the public services that is allowed to continue.
Recycling centres at Whitby, Burniston and Seamer Carr are all open, no booking is required but you are advised to only use the tip if you have to.
There are some restrictions in place and trade waste is not allowed to be brought to the sites.
All residents are charged for the disposal of hardcore, rubble, plasterboard and tyres. There are also charges for some commercial waste, you can check which HERE.
