The stunning window displays, designed by Julia Wray, feature scenes from this year’s pantomime at the Stephen Joseph Theatre – Aladdin.
Ms Wray, who this year has also designed and made the costumes and props for Boyes Grotto, said: “I always enjoy doing the window, I started on the designs for the grotto in April, and began work on the windows in June, the pieces took around two months to create. It’s Christmas all year for me!”
Boyes’ Santa will arrive in the harbour at 1.30pm on Saturday, November 16, where he will be welcomed by Paddy Billington from This is the Coast, Scarborough Sixth Form Band who will be playing Christmas hits to get the crowd in the mood, and the cast from Scarborough YMCA pantomime Sleeping Beauty.
The traditional parade follows, when Santa will be taken from the harbour to the store in his sleigh where he will be greeted by Hunmanby Brass Band who will be playing from 12pm.
Santa’s Grotto will open at 2.30pm, and following this will be open every Thursday and Friday from 1-5pm, Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 10.30am-3.30pm (closed for lunch 1-1.30 pm).
