Organisers of the club, which has won numerous accolades over the past decade including at the IAIGC World Championships in USA, said it could end up closing altogether if it cannot find new premises.

The gymnasts are searching for a building but are struggling to discover the perfect home due to some very specific requirements.

Linda Deamer, at Bridlington Gymnastics Club, said: “The size of the building is an issue as it needs to be at least 8,000 to 10,00sq ft with an adequate ceiling height to house all our equipment, the largest being our sprung floor which measures 13m by 13m.

“The venue must have toilet facilities while heating is a must along with a possible office and small kitchen area.

“Due to the fact that we are trying to keep our fees as low as possible in order to offer gymnastics we need an affordable venue.”

The not-for-profit organisation, which has operated for more than 30 years, has been based at Southshore Holiday Village since 2011.

Linda and Laura Deamer teach children from Bridlington and the surrounding areas from the age of four upwards.

Linda added: “Our squad competes throughout the UK and we have had measurable success over the years.

“We also have had the pleasure of hosting many competitions for Hull and District Gymnastic Association which was set up to give gymnasts the chance to compete against other local area clubs in our area.

“We have had success at the IAIGC World Championships in USA. We even returned one year with a World Champion on the beam.

“All this success may all come to an untimely end due to our present landlords taking the decision to redevelop the site.

“We now find ourselves in the situation of having to find another suitable location, which is not an easy feat due to the amount of equipment we have.”
