Paged by the UK Coastguard, Bridlington Lifeboat crew went out to help and passed a tow to the stricken boat at around 3.20pm before starting to guide it back to Bridlington harbour.

Although weather conditions were described as "perfect, with calm seas and little wind", because of the tide, the boats were unable to get into the harbour until 9.47pm.
