The brand-new theatre-based project for 11-18-year-olds will be held at YMCA Scarborough, and potential attendees are also invited to try it out for free before then.
Participants will attend workshops in theatre skills, dance and movement, comedy, drama, musical theatre, singing and voice acting, and will also be able to put their own special twist on their performances.

The project is ongoing but, due to Covid-19 regulations, is split into 6-week blocks running in line with school terms. At the end of each term students will perform for a live audience, either in one of YMCA’s spaces, on the YMCA Theatre stage, or in a different space around Scarborough.
Throughout the year, workshops will be held with industry professionals including theatre directors, musical directors, choreographers and writers to boost skills to a whole new level.
The project is led by local creative arts organisation, Dare to Create, founded by writer and spoken word artist, Hayley Green, and actor, singer and dancer, Katie Doubtfire. Between them the team have 30 years’ experience performing, producing and facilitating creative projects and have taught and performed across the UK and Europe.
