Daughter thanks Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team for rescuing mother
The daughter of a woman who was rescued by Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team (SRMRT) has sent a message of thanks for their efforts.
The team was tasked by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with the rescue of a female with a suspected hip injury at Carlton.
The patient was located approximately 300 yards from the nearest suitable vehicle access, across a field.
SRMRT personnel assisted with ensuring the casualty was protected from the cold and carried out the evacuation using a vacuum mattress, cas bag, Bell stretcher and wheel.
Heather Gamble said: “Thank you to each and everyone one of the team – they were fantastic.
“My husband is a crew manager in the fire brigade so I hear of situations, but it is different when it happens to yourself in real life.
“We could not have got mum to safety in as less pain as the mountain rescue team did.
"They were marvellous. We will be forever grateful.”
