Derwent Valley Bridge Library thanks community for helping to raise £3000
Trustees at Derwent Valley Bridge Library have issued a huge ‘Thank You’ to everyone who helped make the library’s Big Fundraiser a great success
A spokesperson for the library said: “Your support and generosity is invaluable and the incredible £3000 that we made will enable the library to look positively at the year ahead.

"Thank you to the local businesses who kindly donated prizes, the library volunteers and supporters who baked cakes, made handicrafts, served teas, manned stalls, set up and cleared away, and of course, the many people who came along on the day and supported us.
Cllr David Jeffels, who represents the Derwent Valley and Moor division on North Yorkshire Council and is a trustee of the library, praised the team of volunteers for the success.
He said: “It is a wonderful achievement in these difficult financial times and that residents in the division's villages worked so hard to such great effect.
“Their vision and planning must surely be an inspiration to many other rural areas in North Yorkshire.
“They have ensured that this excellent library - believed to be the smallest in the county - should have a sound future to the benefit of everyone from young children to the older generations and be an exemplar to other villages and communities."
