Police are investigating after a dog was reportedly hit by a mobility scooter in Bridlington and had to be put down.

They have had a complaint that a man on a mobility scooter crashed into the pet on Hilderthorpe Road on Saturday and then shouted at the dog's owner.

The animal was taken to a vet for treatment but had to be put to sleep.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting crime reference 16/98933/20.
