Green Letter Days Boat Trips, Whitby, Friday 10 July
Setting off from Whitby, these trips provide a chance for people living with dementia and their carers to reconnect with the outdoors and enjoy the calming effects of the sea.
The team ensures that everyone feels comfortable and included, with a relaxed pace and plenty of time to take in the coastal views.
Green Letter Days are free of charge, so cost is not a barrier, but attendees are encouraged to donate to the charity if they can.
There are an estimated 982,000 people living with dementia in the UK, a figure expected to rise to 1.4 million by 2040.
Green Letter Day experiences are designed so people with dementia and their carers can take part side by side.
Dementia Adventure focuses on what people can do, helping them reconnect with activities they once loved but may have felt they had to give up.
Fiona Petit, Chief Executive at Dementia Adventure, said: “We’re thrilled to bringing golf and boating Green Letter Days to residents in North Yorkshire.
"These free days show that a diagnosis doesn’t mean the end of adventure, and we can’t wait to welcome local people to enjoy he stunning Whitby coast line.”
