Enjoy Open Gardens event at Whitby Youth Hostel
The beautiful gardens at Whitby Youth Hostel will be open on Saturday, June 20 for visitors to enjoy.
The gardens are maintained by a group of dedicated volunteers, who visit every week to work together in the wonderful setting, next to Whitby Abbey and with a fantastic view of the town, harbour and surrounding countryside.
This is the perfect time to visit, as the herb and lavender beds are looking beautiful and attracting bees and butterflies, the geraniums and roses are in full flower, and the wildflower areas are a magnet for pollinators.
The gardens will be open from 1.30pm.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy live music.
Hawsker Village Band will be performing a variety of tunes from the 18th and 19th Centuries, followed by young violinists from Whitby Music Centre, who range in age from nine to 15.
The music will start at 2pm and continue until 3.15pm.
The volunteers will be selling plants, jams, marmalade and chutney, and the hostel café will have a range of drinks, cakes and ice creams for sale.
