Enjoy the lights fantastic at Sewerby Hall’s Winter Woodland event – here’s how to book your tickets

A brand new event, postponed from last year, will brighten up December at Sewerby Hall and Gardens this year: Sewerby Winter Woodland will take visitors on a magical outdoor journey of spectacular sounds and lights.

Visitors will discover that The Snow Queen has cast a spell on the beautiful woodland, which has come alive with light and sounds.

A spokesman said: “As people journey deeper into the woodland, visitors will have the opportunity to make some winter magic of their own – taking part in activities such as wand making with Moonlight, the enchanted moth; learning spells; and even meeting the Snow Queen herself, before enjoying the grand finale of a superb lighting display set to music.

“The house itself will be filled with Christmas decorations and trees, and the lighting in the house will add a magical feel.”

Tickets will be available via www.sewerbyhall.co.uk/winter-woodland and will be on general sale from Wednesday, June 30.

Entry will be at two timed sessions each day – the first will be from 4.30pm to 6.30pm and the second from 7pm to 9pm.

Ticket will cost £12 for adults; £8 for children; and £35 for a family ticket (two adults and two children).

There will be free admission for Under 3s (no ticket required) and for carers. Dogs will not be permitted.

Councillor Mike Medini portfolio holder for cultural and leisure assets, said: “I am delighted that we are going to be able to run this fantastic event in 2021, after its huge popularity last year, and the disappointment of its cancellation. Winter Woodland will be a great start to the festive season this year.”
